Why AxiPath

Why AxiPath

Most labs are told to choose between living with paper or replacing their whole LIS. AxiPath offers a third way: digitize the request first, keep what works, and grow from there.

Start at the lowest-friction point

The request is where errors begin and where digital adoption is easiest. Fix the front door first and every downstream step benefits.

Modular, incremental adoption

No full LIS replacement. Pilot one specialty or department, then expand module by module — at your pace.

Interoperability-first

Built on HL7, FHIR, IHE PaLM, DICOM and SNOMED CT so AxiPath synchronizes with your LIS and EMR instead of duplicating them.

Built for real pathology workflows

Designed with pathologists and lab staff around specimens, laterality, containers, accessioning and grossing — not a generic order-entry form.

Mobile, offline, glove-friendly

A native mobile app that keeps working without a connection — made for operating rooms, clinics and busy benches.

IT-light and configurable

Lab admins adapt templates and fields themselves. Minimal reliance on hospital or lab IT resources.

AI with a human in the loop

Where AI helps — extracting data, flagging gaps — it proposes; people decide. AI never makes clinical decisions.

Traceable by design

Unique IDs, single-use container barcodes and a tamper-evident audit trail from request to specimen to case.

FAQ

Questions labs ask us

Do we need to replace our LIS?

No. AxiPath is designed to sit next to your existing LIS and EMR and to integrate using open standards. Many labs will start with digital requests only.

What can we see today?

A working web and mobile product covering the request, patient selection, container barcodes, lab review, accessioning, grossing and template management. Book a demo and we'll show it on your own forms.

What about paper requests that keep coming in?

Paper and PDF requests can be brought into the same digital worklist, so the lab runs one process. AI-assisted extraction from paper forms is on the roadmap.

Is AxiPath certified as a medical device?

Not yet. AxiPath is being designed with IVDR, GDPR, cybersecurity and AI-governance requirements in mind. We'll be transparent about regulatory status as it evolves.

Which languages and countries are supported?

AxiPath is built for multi-language, multi-country use — including country-specific identifiers and role names. Tell us your requirements.

How is AxiPath priced?

AxiPath is a SaaS platform adopted module by module. Early-adopter labs get tailored terms — contact us to discuss.

Ready to move from paper to a controlled digital workflow?

See AxiPath on your own request forms. We'll walk through a live demo tailored to your lab — from the clinician's phone to accessioning.
